Lee’s primary speaking topics are listed below.
An Artist’s Adventures and Misadventures in the Mountains
Listening to the ice crunch as I dig my crampons into the ice, my mind wanders for just a second. When my attention returns to the moment, I find myself quickly sliding down the face of the steep ice face on Little Athabasca Glacier. A jerk of the rope and I come to an abrupt stop. Without hesitation, I get up and start to climb up the face. I reach my guide, he asks if I am ok, I say yes, we have a bit of a laugh and on we go to our target, Boundary Peak.
Lee will recount stories like this one from his adventures in the Rockies and will pair the stories with his bold visual stories. Lee will detail what energizes him to take up adventures like the one above and the inspiration for each of his bold visual stories in the presentation. Lee will share some tips and tricks he uses to capture his images.
Length 45 to 120 minutes
Geared for camera clubs; photographers of all levels; can also be catered to non-photographers
Exploring Wild Places
Hiking along the cliffs of Qeqertarsuaq (Disko Island, Greenland), we walk through a natural gate into this wonderland straight out of a fantasy movie like the Lord of the Rings. Fire red lichen, bold orange willows, cliffs of volcanic basalt rock hanging over a sea of icebergs, a waterfall plunging into the sea, and a nearby sea arch emerging from the sea bottom.
Telling stories like this one, Lee presents his stories from exploring wild places such as Greenland, Namibia, Tanzania, Bhutan, and nordic skating on the Baltic Sea through his bold imagery and behind the scenes storytelling. Lee will talk about what got him excited about each visual story and will share some tips and tricks along the way.
Length 45 to 120 minutes

Rocky Roads
Driving along one of Lee’s favourite roads in the Canadian Rockies, Kris and Lee are scouting lakes for wild ice skating adventures. They stop along the road to check out a lake, but unfortunately, the conditions are no longer suitable for skating. As they look up, they notice that the moon is on a path toward the summit of Old Goat Mountain. They race back to the truck, grab their gear, and set up along the lakeshore to capture this moment.
Lee will share stories like this one from his adventures on his favourite roads in the Canadian Rockies. Through his striking visual stories and engaging behind-the-scenes narration, he discusses his inspiration for the images. Lee also helpful tips on how you can create your own bold stories during your road trips and vacations including using mobile phones.
